The New Turf Field

Jason Lu, Author

The “library field”, or the field next to the library and commonly used in physical education class, has been converted into a new turf field. The field will be used for physical education class, as well as a variety of local sports teams. The field’s funding was provided through bond financing for a total amount of 870,000 dollars. With a shared occupancy schedule, the turf field should last up to twenty years. The turf field is partially owned by the Board of Education and the Township of Millburn. The two groups plan to provide joint maintenance of the field, including a turf replacement after ten years. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was on November 16.

Students at MMS, look forward to playing various sports on the new “Library Field” soon!
