The Hour of Code

Holden Bergam

December 7th marked the beginning of Computer Science Education Week. Computer Science is important because it helps students develop the essential skills of problem solving and critical thinking. Furthermore, anyone can learn the basics! Lines of code are the building blocks to technological advancement. This is why, to educate students on the idea of computer science, schools across the globe dedicate one week to school-wide coding events.

In the week of December 7-13, the MASH peer leaders are sponsoring coding events during study hall every day. During your study hall period, you will be given the opportunity to explore different levels of code. After completing a course, whether it be beginner, intermediate, or advanced, you may enter a raffle in celebration of this event!
